On February 24, 2020, Guangdong Robotic Intelligent Welding Engineering Technology Research Center formed byGuangzhou Risong Intelligent Technology Holding Co., Ltd. was publicized in the List of 2019 Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centers and officially approved to be established.

It is reported that Risong Technology planned to build a technological innovation platform by constructing "Guangdong Robotic Intelligent Welding Engineering Technology Research Center" in the approved list. The Center will gather and cultivate more innovative talents who are specialized in the robot intelligent welding industry for further promoting the cooperative innovation and development in production, education and research, and breaking through the key generic technologies that restrict the development of robot intelligent welding industry, so that Risong Technology could become a leading enterprise in robot intelligent welding technology in China and even in the world.

In response, Sun Zhiqiang, Chairman and President of Risong Technology, said that with the rapid development of intelligent manufacturing industry, the requirements for welding technology and welded product quality are getting higher and higher. However, the harsh welding operation environment makes it costly to train a qualified welder. Robot intelligent welding technology plays a key role in solving this major problem that restricts the development of high-end manufacturing industry.

In the future, "Guangdong Robotic Intelligent Welding Engineering Technology Research Center" will devote itself to robot welding and intelligent equipment research and development. The Center will provide robot welding and intelligent equipment production lines, manual welding equipment, semi-automatic welding equipment and robot welding equipment for customers in China and the global welding market. Intelligent welding production lines could be customized for customers in the Center, including robot off-line programming, weld seam tracking system, intelligent welding factories and welding workshops. In response to the situation that China's robot intelligent welding technology is restricted by others, the Center will focus on advanced technologies such as intelligent welding, laser welding and friction stir welding, so as to take a place in domestic and foreign markets and help the Chinese manufacturing industry to complete the transformation and upgrading of automation and intelligence.

"Guangdong Robotic Intelligent Welding Engineering Technology Research Center" is researching and developing intelligent friction stir welding technology and key equipment for light alloy. Risong Technology has developed the robot friction stir welding equipment which is technologically advanced in China and greatly improves the flexibility of welding operations, the degree of welding automation, production efficiency and welding quality. The cost of welding production could be reduced greatly by adopting the equipment. All these factors drove leap-forward progress in various welding technology application industries and realized a new leap in the research and development of friction stir welding technology and equipment in China. According to the robot friction stir welding equipment, the Center has performed a large number of development work for engineering application in such industries as automobiles, trains, ships, radiators, airplanes and rockets. A database has been established for relevant welding process parameters to provide a complete set of solutions for friction stir welding system.
